Piero Passacantando: Sacred Life, April 3 - 27

ELECTR∆ Gallery presents Sacred Life, Neo Tantric paintings by Italian artist, Piero Passacantando. Eighteen small and medium works combine meditative land and seascapes with sacred geometry and tantric energy forms, merging observations of inner space with those of the outer world. Watercolor, acrylic and pencil describe mountains, waves, and voids overlayed with rings and fractals of bright saturated color. Passacantando describes his painting process as a spiritual quest and the paintings themselves as vessels that contain an experience of unfolding.

Piero Passacantando (b. 1979 in Rome, Italy) works with painting, food, sound, photography and participatory workshops. He holds an MFA from the California College of the Arts and a BFA from the Corcoran College of Art and Design, Washington, DC. He was the recipient of a Fulbright grant that took him to Nepal to study traditional Thangka painting, which he then integrated into his contemporary painting practice. He lives and works between San Pancho, Nayarit, Mexico and the countryside of Terni in the Umbria region, Italy.
